Hi Ulises, thank you for joining us today to let us know more about your CPQi experience. So, to start off with, what brought you to CPQi?

Hey, a pleasure to be doing this! What brought me to CPQi is the excitement of being part of something new, fresh and that I can be part of. I used to work for a huge company, with thousands of employees and thought it was great, but sometimes I felt like a low number on their list. Here I feel I can contribute to build things from scratch, to be involved in really important decisions and most important that if one really tries it pays off.

How have CPQi supported you through your professional journey?

They’ve been great! They supported a whole relocation process from Argentina to Canada in the mist of a world pandemic, that was awesome. Despite some bumps, which were all part of this new world, everyone from HR Lead, to the finance team, my manager and even the CEO of the company really showed that they care about me and my family.

On the professional side, the role I’m playing as a consultant to a world class bank made me see another aspect of the industry that I would love to explore. I see CPQi as a beginning of my new career overall.

What project are you particularly proud of working on during your time with CPQi?

I haven’t had the chance to really work on more than one client yet, but I’ve been involved in the building of a squad for one of our “big fish” and I loved it! I would love to be involved in those kinds of building from zero to hero projects, hopefully, really soon.

Could you tell us about a time someone made you feel special at CPQi

Well, for the few months I’ve been here, I already feel value. The things that were done to move me and my family to Canada showed me how the management and team cares about each team member, and that’s really good to see.

Have you made friends who will last forever at CPQi?

It’s too early to say, but I definitely think that I’ve already made really special friends. Being new to Canada, and Halifax specifically, I already engaged with out team members and have really good things planned once lockdown and Covid’s over. Therefore, I think that the question needs to be will I be making friends that last forever? And the answer would be YES!

Why did you choose to work at CPQi?

I think it goes back to my first answer, it was a combination of factors, but I think that having the opportunity to live and work abroad was a long-time dream of mine. So once CPQi presented me with this job offer, I knew I was going to take it. Then, when the whole process came into place, I knew I (we, with my family) had made the right choice.

Why do you like working at CPQi?

The people, without a doubt. For example, the other day over a team meeting my manager as part of a conversation we were having clearly stated that she’s a huge advocate to defend her team, and that she would put us before our customers, and that’s a little thing that makes you realize how much CPQi cares about their team.

Another aspect is the career path, having the opportunity to learn and be certificated in industry standard software or applications is GREAT! I’m really planning to take advantage of that once I’m settled in my new role, for sure.

Tell us about the best day you ever had at CPQi

The day we FINALLY arrived in Halifax. As it was the beginning of our new life and we were able to devote 100% of the 8 working hs. to our customers, teams and learning process.

What ambitions do you have for your future at CPQi?

Definitely to continue to build a career within the FinTech industry, as I believe it’s the future of finance and technology. I would really like to pursue the chance to grow on a more SCRUM or Project Manager role within these projects and help build a better and bigger CPQi for me, my peers and the many other people that would come to work here in the future!
